Lake of the Ozarks Information & Features

USA TODAY  announces the Lake of the Ozarks wins first place as the Best Recreational lake in the nation.

The Lake of the Ozarks, located in mid-Missouri, has over 55,000 miles of waterways.

The 1,150 miles of shoreline and 54,000 acres offer something for full-time residents, second homeowners as well as visitors.

Experience one of the 15 premier public golf courses by designers such as Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, Trent Jones Sr., Bruce Devlon and Robert Hagge. Need a challenge, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Porto Cima has a lakefront hole for every level of play.

The Lake area comprises an east and west side, joined by the Community Bridge. The east side encompasses the cities of Lake Ozark and Osage Beach and the community of Four Seasons. The weat side includes the cities of Sunrise Beach, Camdenton, Greenview, Laurie & Gravois Mills and the community of Porto Cima.

Lake area businesses have grown by leaps and bounds with the the addition of Kohl's Department Store, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bed Bath & Beyond and Dierberg's Grocery out of St. Louis. Like to search for a deal, The Osage Beach Outlet Mall is the place to start.

Need to relax after a hard day of enjoying Lake activities, you have lots of choices. Here are some of my favorites:

Baxter's Lakeside Grill

JB Hook's Restaurant

Vista Grande Mexican Restaurant

Bentley's Restaurant
